What is Therapy?
Who is it for?

Therapy is a collaborative and confidential process between a trained therapist and an individual seeking support. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for anyone to explore their thoughts, emotions and experiences.

Through therapeutic techniques and evidence-based approaches, therapy can help you gain insight, develop coping skills, and make positive changes in your life. It offers support for a wide range of concerns, such as stress, improving relationships, recovering from trauma, navigating life transitions, and addressing mental health issues. Therapy can empower you to enhance self-awareness, promote personal growth, and achieve greater overall well-being.

Deciding whether therapy is right for you is a personal choice and it depends on your individual needs and circumstances. Whether you are facing specific challenges or simply looking for personal growth, therapy can provide a safe and supportive environment to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences. If you are experiencing difficulties in your relationships, struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health concerns, therapy can offer effective tools and strategies for overcoming these challenges. Ultimately, the best way to determine if therapy is right for you is to reach out to a qualified therapist who can assess your unique situation and discuss how therapy can support your goals and overall well-being.

Therapy is 100% confidential; all information gathered is HIPAA compliant, including emails.

I use a very eclectic approach to therapy. After we meet, I put together a customized treatment plan specific to your needs to get you feeling your best as soon as possible.

Fill out your paperwork prior to session, as this saves us at least 15 minutes of your therapy hour that we can spend getting to know one another and setting treatment goals. Please bring a credit card or method of payment as payment is due at the beginning of each session. I also accept cash and checks. *Please note walk and talk sessions are not available as a first therapy session. Walk and talk is available after a client has had at least four in person sessions.

Most clients benefit from weekly therapy sessions; however, some clients only need two per month (biweekly appointments). The amount of therapy sessions a client needs is best decided once the clinician and the client set goals.

The length to which you will need therapy depends on a client’s individual circumstances and the goals they want to achieve in therapy.

I offer virtual/online sessions two days a week. If you need virtual therapy, be sure to inform me of this during our 15 minute consultation.

Clients who suffer from extreme emotional dysregulation benefit from therapy with me. I specialize in helping clients learn how to identify, decipher, and eventually regulate emotions, specifically adults who suffer from ADHD, complex trauma, and recurring depression/anxiety.

I use a combination of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, CBT, SFBT, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I find that these modalities work well to help clients live a fully authentic, emotionally regulated life.

CBT is based on the understanding that our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are interconnected. As such, by addressing and modifying negative or maladaptive thought patterns, we can positively influence our emotions and actions. CBT focuses on helping individuals identify and challenge cognitive distortions and replace them with more realistic and adaptive thoughts. It also teaches ways to modify maladaptive behaviors and build healthier coping skills.

DBT combines elements of CBT with concepts from mindfulness and acceptance-based practices. It focuses on helping individuals develop skills in four main areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Through a structured process involving eye movements and visualization techniques, ART helps individuals access and reprocess traumatic memories in a safe and controlled manner. By addressing the core aspects of trauma, ART fosters a sense of empowerment and restores a greater sense of control over one’s life.

Business FAQs

How it Works

Here I’ve answered the nuts and bolts of the business of therapy.

My services begin at $115. Upon booking, you will receive a Good Faith Estimate that provides a list of services and their costs, as well as your estimated cost of therapy based on the services you choose.

I do not accept insurance. I will, however, provide a super bill for your insurance company to seek reimbursement.

A Superbill is a receipt for a session with an out-of-network counselor allowing the patient to submit to their health insurance. A Superbill may be requested by a patient of a mental health professional; psychiatrist, psychologist, or licensed social worker, when the patient pays out-of-pocket for the qualified medical expense. Reimbursement will be determined by the individual healthcare policy at the time the claim is received.

I require a 24 hour cancellation in order to avoid a charge of $85. This is nonrefundable. The reason is simply when you hold a spot on my schedule, you take it from another client who needs it. After two no call/ no show appts, clients will be removed from the schedule. There is a wait list for persons seeking emotional wellness. Sometimes, clients are simply not ready to embark on a journey to healing as it takes time and commitment.

Please fill out the request for a free 15 minute consultation. I make those calls on Monday mornings. After a conversation, we will see if I am the right fit for your therapeutic needs.

Due to the importance of your confidentiality and the importance of minimizing dual relationships, I do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on any social networking site (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram etc). I believe that adding clients as friends or contacts on these sites can compromise your confidentiality and our respective privacy. It may also blur the boundaries of our therapeutic relationship. If you have questions about this, please bring them up when we meet and we can talk more about it. If you see me in person, I will wait for you to approach me with a greeting as a way to respect your confidentiality.
